Indoor season
For our indoor season, we shoot at Thornfield Indoor Bowls Club (see below).
Our indoor season runs from October to April. During this season we shoot inside an 16.5-metre indoor hall. Indoor sessions are one hour long, and the times are currently as follows:
Thursdays – 6pm to 8pm
Sundays – 11pm to 2pm
Outdoor season
Our outdoor season runs from May to September. During this time we shoot in our field nr Napton, at distances up to 70 metres. Our outdoor sessions times are currently as follows:
Sunday – 1pm to 3pm
Wednesday – 6pm to 8pm
Outdoor sessions are weather-dependent and may be cancelled if it becomes too hot, wet or dark to shoot safely. You will be notified of a cancelled session via email and the ClubEvent app.
Booking a session
There are limited spaces for each session available and bookings are made via the ClubEvent app (available on both Android and iOS) on a weekly basis, or on our sessions booking page (which is restricted to Club members).
Under 18s must be accompanied by a guardian to all sessions.
For safety reasons, all compound bows must have a draw weight of 60lb max when shootingOutdoors. Indoors a max draw weight of 40lb on the foam targets and a max draw weight of 50lb if shooting the target bag Indoors.
Thornfield Indoor Bowls Club
The address of our indoor venue is Rugby Thornfield Indoor Bowls Club, Bruce Williams Way, Rugby CV22 5LZ.
Please use the leisure centre car park and then walk down to the Bowls Club. It is free to park.
There are toilets inside the Bowls Club.
The hall itself is a function room inside the bowls club. There will be members of the bowls club playing bowls as you enter. Please be quiet and respectful as you enter the premises.
When you first enter the Bowls Club, please walk through the double doors, turn right into the main bowling area. The function room is a little on the way down on the left hand side just after the bar.
The hall is small and there is not room to have people setting up their equipment while others shoot. Please set up and break down your kit in the area outside the hall. At this time, please keep the noise and chatter down to avoid disrupting the bowls players.
